Kalorama Coffee Cart

From a spark at the Ventura Farmers Market to a thriving creative hub.

It started with a simple walk through the Ventura Farmers Market; I noticed something missing. Among the produce stands, baked goods, and music, there wasn’t a single coffee vendor. When I looked into it, I discovered that Ventura County had never approved a mobile coffee cart before. That challenge became the start of something bigger.

I launched Kalorama Coffee Cart as the first licensed mobile coffee vendor in Ventura County; designing everything from the brand identity and visuals to the cart itself. But the real magic happened through storytelling. I started creating short social media videos about the journey - the build, the first pour, the community behind it, and they took off. People connected to the story, not just the coffee.

Before long, I was helping other small brands with their own visual storytelling, producing content that captured their essence and growth. The community that formed around Kalorama became more than customers; they were collaborators, musicians, artists, and friends.

That community led to the next chapter: Kalorama Coffee Shop; a physical space filled with vinyls, plants, art shows, and late-night conversations. It became known for its warmth and authenticity, a true creative meeting place.

When the time felt right, I sold the business; at a profit, and on a high note- leaving behind a thriving brand and an even stronger sense of what creative entrepreneurship can do when it’s rooted in story and community.
